Founded in 1938 (TGPU) enjoys an excellent reputation as an academic, research and public outreach centre of the Russian heartland and beyond.

Providing for strong classical and service education, TGPU successfully competets with purely technical schools in Service, Computer Science, Maths and Applied Economics.

Beyond, we also have disciplinary departments specialising in (1) Medical Science (2) Physical Culture (3) Physics (4) Business, Economics and Management (5) Mathematics and Computer Science (6) Foreign Languages (7) Pedagogy and Psychology (8) History and Russian Philology.

Recently in 1994 we have taken an opportunity from (Moscow) of opening their branch Russian People's Friendship University which is one of the world famous Medical Universities which traines the students for the first Six Semesters in Tula and the remaining six semesters in Moscow.

The course study initiates with preperatory course in the month of September and commences till June with exams giving two months vacation for students. Our administration and faculty is also committed to the development of the new specialisations in Law, Political Sciences, Government, Public Policy, Public Administration,

Jorunalism/Communication, Higher Education/Administration and Geographical Area Studies.

The students are located at 5 different furnished hostels with modern facilities. Presently 5000 students over all from different countires are trained at the university. Disciplinary departments consists ol 44 subject departments that generally supervise research and professional development of the faculty. T.G.P.U. faculty consists of 45 Doctors / professors / Acadamacians and 565 Candidates / Docents. T.G.P.U. provides Ministry authorised professional education, Kandidat degree granting Post Graduate programs to all qualifying students as well as academic internships and trainings.

We are delighted to specify that the high quality of our faculty and student body allowed us to develop University Partnership projects with Bygdoshch University (Poland), Matey Bela University (Slovak Republic) and Technical

University of Furtuargen (Germany) among others. We also have an experience of successful collaboration within Tula -Albany and Albany-Tula Alliance - a Russian American Sister-Cities consortium.

Admission Conditions and requirements for foreign students: for Bachelor Degree the certificate from full secondary school is needed.

For all types of training the knowledge of Russian enough for instructions is necessary. Applications for admission should arrive before August 20.
